## Description

The water-buoyant, butane-fueled UST Floating Lighter produces a waterproof flame that also withstands winds up to 80 MPH. The piezo-electric ignition lights up to 30,000 times and works when wet with its zinc die-cast wind guard and lever. The catalyzer coil provides a 2000 degree F (1093 degrees C) flame, and it can be adjusted to provide a proper oxygen mix for optimal performance up to 8000 feet (2438 meters). The Floating Lighter also features an impact resistant ABS plastic, waterproof design with O-ring seal and wire bail for secure closure and buoyancy, and a ceramic flame window indicator that glows a bright white color when lighter is ignited. It has 0.04 ounce (1.2 gram) fuel capacity, measures 2.6 x 1.6 x 0.6 inches (LxWxD), and weighs 0.8 ounces (23 grams) without fuel. It's backed by a two-year manufacturer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mine work fine
*by M***N on January 8, 2015*

My lighters work. I used Zippo Premium Butane Fuel.Great lighter. The torch is pretty strong and will likely work in higher winds. The seal looks good. Big reservoir (although I only use six seconds of fuel per fill). A quality item. The only problem I found was that the plastic on the clasp broke. I replaced it with some electrical tape. On my second lighter the clasp broke off completely (this is the metal clasp). But even without the clasp the lighter is not easy to open in one's pocket.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BEST AT HIGH ALTITUDE, Best Torch Lighter on the Market!!!
*by D***L on August 21, 2019*

This lighter works great, even above 11,000 feet elevation!!! I have tried dozens of torch lighter for altitude use. All of the rest get flaky above 7,000 feet, and most quit working above 8,000 feet.I have spent $100's testing all kinds of torch lighters, with some costing $50 or more. This lighter worked flawlessly above 11,000 feet. The key is adjusting the butane to a LOWER setting at altitude to compensate for less oxygen. There is a little adjusting ring on the bottom of the actual lighter, to dial down the butane mixture. Adjust that to the minus side. The actual lighter is a separate piece, that fits inside the orange over-cover. Adjust it for LESS butane at altitude. I have tried dozens of torch lighters, at every mixture setting on those lighters. This is the only one that works reliably at high altitude. The lowly Bic lighters always work, at any elevation, without adjustment. However, windproof is a major advantage of this lighter, and the torch aspect works better with many things in the camping world. The whole lighter weighs 0.9 ounces, and I ditch the orange cover, and just use the lighter inside, to save the 0.3 ounces that the orange cover weighs. The internal lighter has a clear fuel reservoir, so you can easily see how much fuel is left. This thing is the high altitude winner!!!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good bushcraft lighter with some minor issues
*by R***N on November 9, 2015*

For the price this is the best I have found. I carry mine all the time. There is a plastic latch that keeps the cover closed, along with a small metal clip with a small piece of plastic tubing that is designed to add security to the closure. I purchased enough of these for myself and my sons. The plastic tubing that holds the metal clip securely has fallen off all three. I replaced with some the sheaths some gutted 325 paracord that does the trick. This issue does not compromise the water tight seal as the plastic latch provides a tight close, but under duress this latch allow the lighter top to open. If you are rough like I am and carry this in your pocket, you will want to mod the metal clip. The lighter has never failed to light, even after walking through waste high water. The lanyard hole is thin. If you use a small ring, or just use cordage, you should be fine. I used a larger key ring and the lanyard hole fatigued and failed. I used some gorilla tape and only use some leather as a lanyard. I don't fault the device on this. The lighter mechanism is excellent. The throttle is a little touchy, but once set it is perfect. It lasts quite a while on a tank of butane. I recommend using the muti-filtered fuel in any lighter designed for survival or bushcraft. This also lets you achieve a somewhat higher temperature and is good for higher altitudes. While I have made some comments here that are issues I had, for the price the design is good and I feel this is a reliable device.
