Ibanez Pentatone Preamp and Equalizer Pedal

This is a very tweakable pedal that can cover a huge range of tones. The core distortion has a nice "expensive" quality to it. It's not Marshal, Vox, Mesa, or anything else sound; it has it's own tone. It can cover classic rock, hard rock, and many types of metal; like I wrote prior, it's very flexible. I've only used it through the send jack of an amp's FX loop, so that it's only using the amp's power section. I've never liked the sound of a distortion pedal in front of an amp's pre-amp. At any rate, it's built like a tank. It's the heaviest pedal I own. The knobs and sliders feel solid, and the LEDs are not overly bright. I'm super picky about pedals, and this one is a keeper (I send back the Diezel and 5150 pedals I bought at the same time).

This pedal has got to be one of the most underrated distortion pedals out there right now. It has a boost button and an awesome EQ - super easy to use and easy to shape tone. Built in noise gate works perfectly too. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a Very Versatile Quality Tone at a decent price.

Does what its suppose to do., Tons of tonal options. Its just too muuch for me. I like simple plug n play. So Ive used this pedal maybe 20 minutes then put it back in its original package with paperwork. But Ive waited too long to return it ,if anyone is interested in it for 175.00 + shipping LMK Or if the seller waants it back for 175+shipping I will gladly return it & take the 100+ dollar loss. Its in perfect like new condition.

I'm typically not much of a "pedal guy", but this Pentatone preamp from Ibanez is more than just your average pedal. In fact, as it's name suggests, it's more like 5 pedals: Distortion, Pre-Boost, Post Boost, EQ and a Noise Gate. I use it as a distortion pedal in front of the clean channel on a 15 watt tube amp and with all the tone-shaping options, I find it easy to dial in the hard rock sound I'm looking for.

It is a hard pedal to dual in. I used with a Seymour Duncan powerstage 170 thru a Marshall JCM 800 4x12 cab. Sounds really thin and brittle.

I love this Ibanez distortion pedal! I knew I would not be disappointed . There are so many sound shaping abilities within this pedal, pre and post gain and a noise gate. This pre amp pedal will make any amplifier much louder and the distortion is just beautiful. It’s just a great pedal, very pleased!

Ibanez nailed it with this unit. The distortion sounds great with downtuned guitars and the noise gate does its job well! You wont be disappointed.

The only reason it’s 4 star is, the gain at its lowest volume is almost to much. It’s a rocker…..

If you want chug sound, this is good for you.

音色のバリエーションが豊富過ぎて迷子に。（豊富さが魅力で買いました） 音質は若干硬質な気がしますが、ディストーションということで違和感はありません。 動画を見まくって「ノイズ少なそう！」と感心していましたが、流石にハイゲインで手放しだとノイズいらっしゃいました。 しかし、ノイズゲートを作動させますと（当たり前ではありますが）ノイズは綺麗に排除されます。 またノイズゲートの出来が音楽的で違和感の少ないゲートのかかりなのが良好だと思います。 ※その後に動画を見返すと、みなさん手を放す時はちゃんとボリューム絞ってました。笑 多彩なので、設定リコールしたくなる。半面、デジタル制御・操作ではないのでリコールは厳しい。 ツマミ類を詰め込んだので、機能からするとかなりコンパクト！逆に詰め込み過ぎてデザインが犠牲になり、カッコいいとは言えない見た目。 個人的な直観ですが「名機」に成りうるかと思いまして購入したので、満足です。
