I put them on in the morning when I first get up and they keep my ankles from swelling. I've tried other types of ankle braces and compression socks but these are by far my favorite so far. I love that the toe and heel are open - gives them a good fit without scrunching my toes or struggling to line up the heel - they are easy to keep smooth. I love that they go to the knee - others I have tried either went to my ankle or calf and seemed to dig into my skin pretty bad, leaving deep marks when I took them off as the swelling started at the top of the sock or brace.They did dig a little at the heel the first couple times I wore them all day long, but I do not notice it so much any more.
