There is a slightly alcoholic smell in the middle note. But the top notes dry down is a dead ringer. My husband actually thought this was a better perfume than the original. It is a little softer and lighter. It lasts just as long as the original English Pear and Freesia. Both of them last forever on me. I can go to bed with it and still smell it in the morning.
