Didn't work with devices having USB ports older than usb3.0, although it was advertised that it will. It's useful with laptops though but not mobiles or tablets

Update: The main reason for a dock like this is multiple monitors, and fewer connections. But, did you know your laptop already supports multiple monitors? If you have one VGA out, you are set for a second monitor. If you have a HDMI and a mini-display-port, as my Lenovo does, you can use three displays right out of the box (laptop screen, HDVI, and mini-data port). Of course I have a mini-display-port to VGA adapter. You can plug in another monitor on the fly to either, or both, of your display ports. I just rebooted my Lenovo, with cables as described, NO DOCK, and plugged my Ethernet straight into the Lenovo. My photo shows the same result, sans dock. So, food for thought. Do you need a dock? If you just want multiple displays, you don't need one. But a dock is more convenient to hook up and unhook, so I am keeping mine. This is a good functional docking station that I set up in my home office to dock both a Lenovo work laptop and my personal HP laptop to several monitors, wired network, keyboard, mouse and webcam. My dock/workstation can use either laptop interchangeably, and extend to two monitors in addition to my laptop screen. I also tried to simultaneously plug a monitor into the mini display port on my Lenovo and that worked fine (it was one of my original two extended monitors, but since it worked, I believe this would support yet another monitor or two (as I have a mini display port on one side and a HDMI on the other). The dock works in conjunction with your display ports, rather than instead of them. I was also able to make it work, wireless, by plugging in a high gain antenna wireless adapter. See photo and you will see that the Ethernet/RJ45 jack at the top is empty. Installation is just put it together and plug everything in, rebooted about twice. Everything worked with zero problems. This has a Displaylink chip, which seems to have become an industry standard. My Lenovo already had DIsplaylink drivers installed. My HP went and found them automatically using Windows update. The only thing I did not like is that to use the stand I had to remove a sticky soft pad to expose holes to mount the stand. I tried to follow the English as a Second Language dropout instructions, and "removed the plastic pad". It was not until after I peeled the sticky mess off that I found that the sticky mess was a removable plate. Not a big deal, I threw the plate and stickum away, because I like the smaller foot print of the vertical mount on a crowded desk USB 3.0 is a big enough pipe to support all functionality, but, specifically I can't say about gaming or video throughput. It does work just as well as my work Lenovo docking station, so I gave up on the idea of buying a more expensive, Lenovo (only) dock for home.

Doesn’t support Mac OS High Sierra. Didn’t know that when I bought it. Works as a glorified USB Hub, but that’s all.

So ill keep this short! For the money you cannot beat what you get for it. This product really makes having different platform computers as well as multiple monitors a breeze to connect to. It is as simple as installing the DisplayLink Drivers and you are in business. One major hiccup I had with this product was with the USB3.0 interference to the USB2.0. I have a Logitech Mouse that uses the Unify Dongle; well the mouse would be very laggy and unresponsive to movement or clicks, so I got fed up and started my isolation testing to what it could be; lone and behold it was the USB 3.0 interference to the 2.0 ports. who knew? well if you end up buying this product you will not be disappointed, just keep the Unify Dongle on the farther USB2.0 port from the USB3.0 and you will be good. No other interference shall occur per what Diamond has stated in the corrective measures of this issue. UPDATE: 12/20/17 The product has been great for the time i have had it. A few hiccups with having to power it off and on again, but i feel it is the drivers more than the device. The drivers are universal across many other docks so dont think you are trading up or down with a price tag. If you pair this unit up with a Diamond Display to USB adapter, you can have as many external monitors as you wish... and it all runs great.
