Review: These are the real deal. Basic, but very sturdy and well made. The foot pocket is huge. I wear a 16EEE and was worried that with a (3mm) neoprene diving boot I wouldn't be able to get a comfortable fit. My boots ( NeoSport Wetsuits Premium Neoprene 3mm Hi Top Zipper Boot ) have a nice molded sole and even with my huge feet and the boots, there was adequate room. The straps and adjusters are "old fashioned" but they are simple and relatively reliable. I'm not going to worry about replacement straps for a couple of years - these are quite substantial. Don't know if this a common feature among heel-strap fins, but I would have liked a drain hole in the foot pocket. On a fin this size it's able to hold and trap (while swimming) a lot of water. Not sure the drag that creates is significant. Anyway I was thrilled that they fit so well. The XXL might have been big enough, but since this was a last minute purchase prior to a trip to the USVI, I wasn't going to take the chance and it turns out they sure worked well for me!
