They clean well and don't really scratch. They last for a while and I think they are well made. It is easy to clean them out before setting aside as well and I have never had a lasting smell from them. I think we buy some more every half year or so, but that is just because the wife doesn't like looking at discoloration and\or cleaning knives and such takes it's toll eventually. They could likely last longer... Review: I never thought I would get excited about a SPONGE, but these are really great! They are very soft, and pliable, even when dry, unlike a traditional sponge, and the fibers make it feel like the hook side of Velcro and they do a good job of scrubbing, yet are soft enough that they do not scratch. Best of all, it doesn't start to smell awful, after a few days. I am ordering more, as soon as I finish this review.
