    Yes it is cardboard

From reading other reviews I knew this was made out of cardboard going in.  But it filled a hole in my living room and seems to be keeping good time.  Only had it up a day but so far so good.  I can't complain.  Couldn't afford a more expensive clock and this one is ok.  No cuckoos or chiming though which makes me sad.
