What species of fruit flies can I culture in these cups?

You can use these cups for popular species like Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila hydei, as well as other small fly or microinsect cultures.

Are the cups and lids reusable?

Yes, both the cups and vented fabric lids can be washed and reused for multiple culture cycles if properly cleaned and sanitized between uses.

How do the vented lids help my fruit fly cultures?

The fabric-vented lids provide excellent airflow, reduce mold, and prevent mites or contaminants, while keeping even the tiniest flies from escaping.

How many flies can each cup support?

Each 32 oz cup can support a standard starter culture or an established colony of several hundred adult fruit flies, depending on species and conditions.

How do I prevent mold and mites in my cultures?

Keep cultures in a well-ventilated area, avoid over-moistening the media, and use the vented lids provided to reduce contamination risks.
