Needless to say, I shouldn't have worried as the handle is just fine, even when it is wet and you have gel or foam on your hand it just stays there and does the job.Changing blades is simple as all you do is unscrew the handle, remove the head and place the blade on the retainers. It is so simple.I still had some shaving gel left over so I have only used this shaver with it and not the lather up cream stuff (that is next). But to be honest, even using this with gel it gives an amazingly close shave, much closer than any Hydro 5 or proglide would give. And to top it off it looks the part too.I think I have just found my Christmas presents for the male part of my family.....Definitely recommend this product.... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent well made razor will not disappoint you. *by N***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 June 2017* This is my first DE safety razor. I had looked at lots of alternatives costing considerably more, but opted for the Shaveology Phantom. The black handle gives it a classic look. The addition of the blades, wipe cloth and leather head cover are welcome and other manufacturers could learn from Shaveology particularly the head cover which protects the razors head and your fingers when stored in a travel bag. The razor is nicely weighted and is in fact heavier than I expected. I was worried the smooth black handle might be difficult to hold, but it sits comfortably in the hand, my only criticism would be that I feel the handle could be ½" longer.I have bought a good badger hair shaving brush and Proraso soap, its essential to thoroughly soften the hairs before shaving. The razor is easy to use and I did not suffer a single cut or nick on first use, it glided through the hairs with ease. I suggest 2 passes when shaving with this type of razor and as the brush is already loaded with soap a quick re-application for a second pass takes only a couple of minutes.I would absolutely recommend this razor. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Nicely weighted razor *by B***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 March 2017* Nicely weighted razor. Compared to disposables, it's a heavyweight but controllable: with the right blades (not those supplies with) it's just a matter of gliding it across the stubble without the need to push.
