It's relatively cheap and plays nicely. The sound is pleasant, very mellow and distinctively different from other whistles sizes, though it certainly isn't the nicest sounding low D you'll find. It takes a while to get used to the pipers grip and the various idiosyncrasies of this whistle. It is certainly less forgiving and other whistle sizes. The only enduring difficulty I've had is with the low D (all holes covered, blowing gently). This note sounds very weak, a bit raspy and is easy to overblow. Now I've got used to this whistle, I'm a confident enough whistle player to blame the whistle for this rather than my own playing. You also got to question paying this much money for a plastic tube with some holes in it.
