Worked great with my iPhone X, and now XS , and with my Otterbox case as well.I spent more than twice as much at the Apple store when I first got an iPhone X, for a charging "disc" that makes it easy to position the phone wrong, so you wake up next day and your phone is not charged; --and this taking up maximum nightstand space because the phone lays down The "cradle" configuration is much more positive and less problematic in this regard; and gives me a better view of my phone for timekeeping & etc.My only substantial complaint is that the light does NOT go off when the phone is on the cradle. I solved this by dimming the led lens with a black magic marker; but that little piece of false advertising, promising that the light will go off, is why I didn't give it five stars.Other than that, I will stipulate that this is not a "high end" piece, per se. While I think it's perfectly well built, is is plastic, and otherwise "no-frills". It has only one open / standing position (and that seems to lay against the power connector). There is certainly room in the marketplace for a more expensive cradle with more features; --and if you see one, ante up and let us know about it.
