The first year I took it, I was taking it every day. I have been in therapy to help my anxiety as well. The 5htp has definitely helped my mood when I have been anxious or overstimulated. I homeschool my kids, so having it on hand was a benefit to getting through my day. I don't need to take it as often now but still need it a few days before my period hits. Being perimenopausal and dealing with teenage hormones(who also takes it as needed) leads to me grabbing a serving and then about 30 minutes later feeling a slight euphoria of calmness. Nothing drastic, just enough though.
