## Questions & Answers

**Q: Anyone have these and captains of crush? Like one better than the other?**
A: I can rep the 200lb Heavy Grip 10 times no problem, but struggle to rep the CoC#2 (195lb) 4 to 5 times. Both are well made but I feel something is off on the numbers between brands. Half-price, half-weight?

**Q: Is 100lb gripper "too easy"?**
A: It is good tension but it depends on you. If you have an above average grip strength it may be too easy. But that’s just my opinion.

**Q: If I use these grippers everyday how long do I have to wait to be strong enough to crush a potato**
A: If it's a baked potato you could do it before even using these lol
I take it that your question is an attempt at being funny.

**Q: Are the weights accurate ?**
A: The weight.." it pretty much gets the job done!

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ MY MISTAKE!!! I did not factor the need most insecure men have to EXAGGERATE when I read the reviews.
*by C***E on 5 August 2016*

WARNING: You will get it straight here. I have no need to boast or exaggerate. I do feel it is my duty to give you a heads up about the many false reviews about Heavy Grips.I read reviews saying go for a power more than you think you will need because they were "too easy" (have a look for yourself).I know I'm not a beginner, I have been regularly crushing 30KG in both hands for 25 reps with ease ,so I thought I would need the 150, so I bought the the 200 (the weight above what I felt I need) and I bought the 250 so I can try to crush that with two hands and attempt at least one negative. Result: I could only squeeze the 200 with one hand about a quarter of the way. The 250 was like 3mm, though it might have been my imagination.Today I have ordered the 150 and the 100. I will be content when I can knock out 20 reps of the 200.The way I want to do hand grips is the way I do dumbbell training and this to start with the highest weight and do it until muscle failure, then go down a weight and do that until muscle failure, then a lower weight until muscle failure. So I expect to be doing the 150 Heavy Grip, then the 100 Heavy Grip and then my 30kg to finish. The 100 and the 150 arrive tomorrow. I will not do forearm and grip training today so I can test these Heavy Grips tomorrow. I will update this review after I have done this.People are complaining about the harshness of the grips, saying they will rip their fingers to shreds. Nonsense. For a start what man wants their hands and fingers to be smooth? Any toughening of your skin is a massive bonus. The movement of the spring feels quality, the whole product feels quality and looks it. The springs being a gun metal colour looks an excellent contrast to the steel handles. The best thing I like about them is the width between the handles, they are just right for my hand size. Others I have tried were virtually being pulled with finger tips and needed my other hand to crush it a bit to enable a full grip on the handles. With this product I can pick it up with one hand and use. I also like the weight of them and overall size. Great to keep in the back pocket of jeans on Forearm days (after all heavy lifting for that day has been done because you need your full grip for those). I traditionally use grippers during adverts of a film, after I finish a chapter in a book, when I am on public transport and it's for this I have finally got round to buying specific metal ones with a set weight. When I find my optimum weight gripper I will be happy with it until I hit 25 Reps regularly, then it will be time to go to the next one .... then eventually do the drop set thing I described above.I am not interested in certificate gaining or anything else other than strong grip and powerful forearms with veins sticking out of them. My father held both handles of one of those bendy power bar things in one hand. I have seen nobody else manage it. That's a challenge for you.UPDATE:Like I said originally in this review I regularly crush 35KG for 20+ reps. The Heavy Grips 100 I can crush 10 times. I can crush the 150 with both hands and then hold it closed with one hand for 3 seconds. So now you have a realistic idea of what the weight strengths are. Also my wrists are sore today after testing them yesterday. Could be the wrist curling bar, the pull up bar or me trying hard to crush Heavy Grips which are to heavy.Heads up. The website of Heavy Grips say the springs weaken over time, so don't think you've become a lot stronger and rush into buying a heavier Heavy Grips because it might be two heavy for you.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Quality Grippers
*by M***S on 11 February 2013*

These are well made, heavy, solid grippers. This review is for the 200lbs grippers. They differ from the Gold's gym grippers (black plastic handle ones) mainly because these grippers get harder to close the closer they get to being fully closed. The Gold's gym grippers seem to be the same resistance throughout the gripping range.I can easily do a hundred reps on the Gold's gym grippers (although my forearms start to burn at around 50) whereas I couldn't fully close these grippers, with my left hand, when I tried them first thing this morning. However, after half an hour of pulling faces and sounding like a pirate I can now fully close them with my left hand. (I've just had another go and now I can do seven reps with my left hand [my right hand is stronger], I must have an unusually week grip in the mornings.)So as a rough guide, then, if you can do 100+ reps on the Gold's gym grippers then you'll be looking at doing sets of 10 on these. Well, this is my own experience anyway.I wonder how long it'll take me to do 100 reps on these!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Buy 3, not 1, but the range of resistance isn't ideal on this brand.
*by S***C on 3 June 2016*

If you are looking at this range of grip trainers, then you probably intend to do some fairly serious work. If that is you, then get yourself a book to help you plan effective grip strength workouts. And (obviously), buy the grip you think is right for you, (and perhaps less obviously), buy the one in the range above and the one below. In my case, I have the 100, 150 and 200lb grips. I can easily close the 100 with either hand at sets of up to 15 reps. The 150 only three or 4 times with one hand but can only barely close it once with the other and with the 200, i close it with neither hand. To train your grip, you need a range of resistance just as you would with weights. With that in mind, I can say that these are well made products and I don't have any major gripes - except that, at 50lb increments, the range of grips has the resistance set too far apart for efficient training. Another, admittedly more expensive brand available on Amazon, has a similar build quality but has the advantage of setting each set of grips set at 20lbs increments. Now I've been doing the grip strength training for a while, I do wish I'd bought the other brand so that the difference between the grips wasn't so great and my time spent training with them would be more efficient and effective.
