Review: Delicious, versatile, good value! - This is excellent porcini powder, really rich and pungent. I've made my own before, from prime Boletus edulis I foraged myself, so I'm in a good position to judge the quality. (The flavor only really comes out with the dried product btw, fresh porcini are rather underwhelming, at least to me). You need quite a lot to flavor a whole pot of mushroom soup, but most other dishes need just a dash. It marries with so many things. Mackerel & mustard crackers, creamy linguine, chicken pie. It gives me the most incredible brown crust on a simple fried steak. I'm hooked!
