Best made studio mic boom, hands down.
I absolutely love this Mic boom. It's lightweight easy to adjust, moves with zero sound. It's hard to find a boom that is made as well as this. It doesn't use spring retention, the main source of tention comes from the braided steel wire that runs through the whole arm and over each joint. And you adjust each joint with as much tention as you like. If you like to move it up and down a lot thats fine, if you prefer the sweet spot and don't want to lose it that works too! The only downside is due to the way it works it mostly requires you to have you mic dropping down from above. I was able to find a sweet spot with the mic facing upright but it is very low to the desk. But in most cases this won't affect you very much because you don't really need the mic right in your face you can always adjust mic gain for the distance, and if your worried about increasing gain to compensate distance and picking up background noises just use a sound suppressor! Another great feature is the ability to hide your mic cord in a channel with built in clips. I believe this mic comes with the adaptor for the different sizes of mic screw threads. I've went through different booms and mics and I'm sick of the spring loaded kind. This one is more asthetically pleasing and is just so easy to use and set up.

Set it and forget it (pros and cons)
I was hesitant when it came to purchasing this arm because some of the reviews were stating that the tension wire inside of the arm easily breaks if you move it often. But then I thought “well the point of a mic arm is to set it up and just leave it in the most convenient for the user” so I don’t have to fear about that issue. Needless to say I ended up buying it so here are the pros and cons Pros -It has a very sturdy base that can mount nicely on any desk no matter how thick or thin -It looks great because it’s not like your conventional mic arms with those square brackets and visible springs! -The cable management clips on the top and back of the arm make so you don’t have to be constantly looking for ways to manage the cables yourself (can fit both USB and XLR cables with ease). Cons -This is not one of those mic arms where you can constantly move it around it’s more of a Set it and Forget it mic arm. -The mic does not come with a warranty so be careful! -I wouldn’t put overly heavy mics like the Yeti or any high tier shure mica on this arm based on prior reviews. Summary I’ve been using this arm for about 3 months now and I have had no issues with it myself. A key thing that you have to keep in mind however, is that I am also using a Thronmax Mic and Shock mount. So in my case all of these components were made to complement one another and work flawlessly. If you are the type of person that does not fidget with their mic arms then this is the one for you like I said it’s a “set it and forget it” stand!

Solid, but lacking
The design of the Thronmax Zoom is beautiful, however there are features on it, that lack significantly. To start, the adjustment next to where you place the mic can interfere with certain XLR mics such as the Shure SM7B. You cannot turn the mic without the XLR cable threatening to rip out due to the size of the adjustment point. Another feature that I find sad, is the amount of tension you can place on the arm. I cannot move my arm as freely as I want to, due to the Shure SM7B outweighing the arm itself. Even fully adjusting the arm, it still will not fully support the mic. Other than those two key points, the stand is great. I could put my Elgato Wave 3 on this no problem, or even an AT2035 and it can support them. However, it is not for me.

What I'm Looking For With A Great Price...
Was thinking of purchasing a much more expensive one but I'm glad I didn't. It looks and feels sturdy and well built. Easy to setup but hard to adjust the arm. Before installing on the base, you have to first bend the arm in full range of motion several times carefully until the tension feels much workable. Then install on the base and position the arm as desired and tighten the knob to lock in place. Attached the mic and hide the cable and your all set to enjoy your new mic boom stand.

adjusting this thing is a nightmare
So bad I had to leave a review. You can't move one part of the stand without the other also moving. If your desk is next to a wall, this thing will be slamming into it. Tightening the screws does nothing; the arm will shoot out and possibly upper cut you in the chin if you aren't careful. I went as loose as possible and as tight as it could be, and it still didn't stay put. I don't know if I got a defective one; the box it came in was all beat up, but it looked clean with no scratches or scuffs. The only reason I bought this is that I used to have an older version that they don't make anymore, and after many years of reliable service, it broke.

Exactly What I Needed!
This mic boom stand looked perfect for my live performance keyboard rig. I'm very tall and as such, when I use a standard mic boom stands they get very top heavy. Lowering a standard mic boom stand and angling boom up 45 degrees presents a problem too, so I had to find an attached boom stand that would clamp to my keyboard stand. The Thronmax Twins Studio microphone boom arm S8 is the perfect solution. Sturdy and well built that should withstand the road.

Great value for the money
I bought this after combing through reviews on YouTube. This model is well built, stable and supports my Yeti Blue mic without flinching. I particularly like the fact that the mic cable can be concealed alongside the arms for better ergonomics. This arm allows you to position your mic in front of the subject or above the subject.

Assolutamente consigliato!
