Anyone use these for a liquid substance?

They have a water-tight little black seal to keep what's inside dry. I tested mine in water and they floated. That should work to contain liquid. For what it's worth, in my opinion, these are worth the price. I laser-engraved mine. The top's eyelet is strong and a part of the lid, and the rings are good quality. The rings are not likely to bend and cause loss. The containers are also very light weight, so they don't add to the mass if you carry a lot of keys and stuff attached to them. Hope this helps.

How many pills can hold in one container?

Not trying to be smart but it really depends on the size of the pill. I've gotten as many as 5.
