Just what we wanted
This covers all the bases for me. The frame and clear section are plastic but, to me, it doesn't make the shadow box look cheap. Someone mentioned that the clear plastic was scratched but it does come with plastic protection sheets on it, perhaps that's what looked scratched to that reviewer.

Love this display.
I have two sizes of this display and LOVE it!! I collect enamel / "hat" pins and the pad accommodates them very nicely. I also have buttons and thumbtacks displayed with no problem. You can set a small item on the bottom of the case as well. They have flexible plexiglass instead of glass which works very well for me. The stand is nothing extraordinary, but I've had no issues with it in any way. I couldn't be happier!
