It sits there in the middle and is basically a bluetooth receiver that connects to the controller, and it emulates a 360 controller to the computer. You are basically telling the dongle what the emulated controller is doing and that is it. The controller connection dropouts have reduced significantly for me from switching from a normal bluetooth nano receiver that Windows has full control over, which will result in all devices disconnecting when one disconnects (the controller just fully switches off when this happens). All issues with that nano receiver have vanished once I moved the controller over to this. It does have momentary freezes where it will stop taking inputs for a second, but this happens once every 3ish hours.
