We have foam mats that the kids play on and the robot is able to glide over there without much problems. It can get a bit ambitious and try to unsuccessfully climb our child slide, but will successfully make it over doorway bumps, wires and such. We run the "mop" on hardwood floors, tiles, and the carpet, it's even able to clean up minor spill such as ice cream on carpet.
