Dealt with it, till I researched how to get live plants to thrive with a good full spectrum light and upgraded to one and can use a smart plug to work with google home. The filter that came with it, is a really good size for this tank. I read complaints that it was noisy and did notice it the first few days. After tinkering and saw that it came from the skimmer, I just raised the water level a lot higher about an inch to inch and a half to rim. It is super quiet. I can’t even tell that it’s on. Also with the higher level, you can slow the flow rate much more for my betta Red. Now Red seems happy and has a little more room to swim and explore. This may be a new hobby for me now.
