I ordered this because I have used Hiscox guitar cases for some years and they are light and protect your instrument. You can bash them around and nothing happens.However - this case is very narrow, more like a 7/8 or even 3/4 size. I have a full size JTL fiddle which I didn't think was particularly wide across its lower bout but turns out to be almost a centimetre too large to fit in here. That was disappointing as the product description does not specify any measurements apart from the length, so I assumed - wrongly it seems - it would have been designed to fit any full size instrument. Luckily I also have a Maggini copy which - as these are possibly the narrowest fiddle shape there is - just about fits. If I didn't own this fiddle then I would return the case immediately.Also - the inside lining is not red, but silver. The end compartment is not big enough to fit a set of strings nor a tuning forkConclusion - unless you have a an instrument with a narrow lower bout - don't risk it. It is very well constructed and has kept my violin safe from bumps and knocks without suffering any noticeable damage or wear. I paid about £40 for mine, so the price has more than doubled, but I am tempted to buy another for my electric violin.
