Etcokei Microwave Flower Press Kit - 4 Layer Quick Flower Pressing Tool, Great for Resin Arts, Scrapbooking, Nail Craft & DIY Arts - Adults & Kids

I took a dried flower craft class at a local farm last spring and the instructor used these. I immediately ordered one for myself and used it a couple of times a week through the end of autumn. It will not warp and provides beautiful results if you follow all but the heating instructions. In class, we heated one side for one minute, let it rest for a minute, flipped the unit over and heated for a second minute then rest 1 min, then flipped it again and heated it for a third minute. We let it cool for a couple of minutes before removing the leaves and flowers. I will say that this does not work with any plant materials thicker than about 1/4". I tried to dry a couple of zinnias and some black-eyed-susans and they were too thick in the center, but I did tons of leaves and queen anne's lace and flowers like daisies and petunias and cosmos, etc. All that being said, I doubt I'd be as happy with the results if I had tried to use it on my own and without the benefit of the instructor's experience, so I hope this info helps someone. It's definitely not a replacement for the more traditional methods of drying flowers, but it can produce some cute results quickly for projects like decoupage or pressed-glass ornaments, etc.

My husband passed and I didn’t want to throw away all of the funeral flowers. I purchased this with a plan to make an art piece with the dried flowers. It took days of drying the flowers on and off to complete the job, but it kept my mind busy and focused on a goal. It was easy to use with great results. The kitchen had an odd vegetable smell while using the product. I highly recommend.

I found this flower press very easy to use. The 2 end pieces made of plastic are sturdy, and the wool felts and cotton blotters are of good quality. The only reason I didn't vote 5 stars on "Easy to use" was because the 2 elastic bands are not the easiest to get on and off multiple times as you check in between bursts in the microwave to see if the flowers are dried sufficiently. They will also lose their elasticity at some point. For now they do provide a snug hold around all the end pieces and blotters. Perhaps one could get a new pair from the manufacturer after they lose their elasticity.

This press works GREAT! I've never used anything other than a pressure and time press. This is fast, easy and gets GREAT results! If you like to dry pressed flowers, you will not be disappointed!

The product had easy-to-follow directions and tips, and the results were fine, but after trying it and another method side by side with the same specimens, I found I got much better color retention and faster results just using paper towels, a glass pie plate, and the defrost setting on the microwave. If I had done some research and just tried the direct method first, I would have saved some money. Plus, after just a couple of rounds of use, the plastic plates were beginning to warp. The pads and cloth sheets did not scorch at all - so that's a plus, but it's still not something I will be using again

This item was purchased for my grandaughter's 6th birthday, and she was really happy with it. She and her mom started using it almost right away and the results were very pleasing. Easy to use, lightweight and gives good results. Since my grandaughter is 6 y.o. her mother supervised and she will continue to do so until no longer necessary. Just follow instructions. The flower press seems to be sturdy enough to last a long time.

I have to admit, I didn't expect such good results; this little flower press works very well! In our area it is still getting below freezing each night, so I don't have any fresh flowers available to try this out. In order to do a test run, I did find a tulip bud that hadn't opened yet, and also used some leaves from the philodendron house plant. I used all five layers of felt pads/cotton fabric, and everything pressed and dried well! I plan to use the dried press flowers and leaves when casting epoxy resin. Printed instructions are included that are complete and nicely written. However, the instructions only include directions using a 700 watt microwave. I know that my microwave is 1,000 watts – so I had to do some calculations (and some guessing) to adjust for that extra power. One of the plastic plates did end up slightly warped – not sure if it was because of the extra power or not – but it didn't seem to effect the ability to press/dry the flowers, it all still worked. The cotton liners did stain from the natural dye in the flowers, but I hand-washed them with a little bleach and the stains came out. Overall, it is a nice little flower press that works much faster than other methods.

Easy to use.... as long as you follow the instructions! Err on the side of caution and do lots of short blasts in the mirowave, checking in between, to avoid burnt flowers!
