I am a perfect Size 6 in every possible way (and have a very extensive shoe collection with several different designers to show it). I do have tiny feet with a very high instep, my right foot is slightly larger than my left and as stated a perfect fit/true to size as a 6m. I also suffer from moderate to severe foot pain due to neuropathy and 27+ years of wearing 3 inch heels/pumps for my career in the business world. The split sole seems to be the only thing that seems to help my foot pain. Bloch is the company that made all of my ballet shoes when I was a young girl to my teens. Love, love, love them! ❤️ Very well made for the price. I’d expect to pay more from other retailers and Bloch directly?!? Those questioning the tongue issue, I’d suggest and recommend going to a cobbler to have it corrected eg; as a regular shoe with tongue and laces! These shoes offer just the right about of support for my aging dancer feet. With the split sole they are extremely flexible. This flexibility easily allows me to fully point my feet for demonstrating combonations. They are also very comfort in demi-pointe and I do not lose my balance as one might in a thicker less flexible dance tennis shoe. I also like the low profile they do not look or feel bulky at all. Although I was aware of people's reviews about tight elastic tongue, I told myself "maybe i can get away with it because my feet aren't so high." It turned out i was so wrong. Look at my blister after the 1st wear. ［Amazon keeps deleting my photo!] Compare the height of your foot with mine as the guideline. It's a shame that they had to use this elastic instead of a regular tongue.
