splitting axe

Is this normal, see the picture, i missed a log couple of time so hit it past the point of blade and hit the handle next to the actual axe, didn't break as expected as I used to own older model which has never been sharpened in 15 years and still is in use by parents.. This is good price and good quality. Handle is not better than old one, probs the same I would say, older one was grippier

I bought this axe to replace an old hickory shafted axe, a little unsure about a plastic handle. Having used the axe it’s excellent, sharp and well balanced, reasonably priced and with good guarantee. Easily splits seasoned sycamore and is lighter than my old axe. First time in a long while I’ve used an axe and not been left with back ache given that I’ve had back surgery. Brilliant. Well done Fiscars

Very comfortable weight and feel. Unlike my wood shaft axe, you do not need to worry about damaging it with an over strike. I was expecting more shock feed back than wood but never noticed any difference. I would advise wearing gloves in case it shatters (which I doubt it will) as fibre shards in skin is not fun. Overall great axe which I can see lasting for years.

Bought for m hubs who is small in stature. He says it’s light and flies through wood and is super sharp. I’ve never seen him so impressed! Fantastic axe highly recommend for wood splitting.

I never knew an axe could go through wood like this does before buying it. I read reviews prior to buying so if you read this, just understand that this is an unbelievably excellent axe that splits wood with an absolute minimum of effort. I had a load of logs that my splitting maul was making hard work of. This axe demolished the lot, splitting each piece with virtually every swing. It's a right piece of kit.

Good but not quite as good as some of the reviews suggest. Compared to my conventional axe it is better but I frequently have to resort to a splitting wedge to split dry logs from the Lime tree I cut down.

I've used this axe for the first time today and it's amazing, cuts through wood like butter and it's really comfortable to handle. The blade is so sharp and no need to sharpen it at all, only time will tell how sharp it stays.

Selten war ich von einem Produkt so zufrieden wie von dieser Spaltaxt. Die beste Spaltaxt, die ich je besessen habe. Macht genau was sie soll. Schön ausgewogen und lässt sich gut führen. Vom Werk sehr gut geschärft.Mit meiner alten Spaltaxt war ich eigentlich recht zufrieden und dennoch war es doch manchmal etwas müßig Buchen oder Eichenholz für den Kamin nochmal in der Mitte zu spalten da mir nach einer Zeit doch etwas die Kraft fehlte bzw mein Rücken sich bemerkbar machte. Nicht mit dieser Axt, denn man braucht wirklich keine Kraft aufzuwenden da sie doch das Holz mit Leichtigkeit spaltet. Gleich nach dem ersten Schlag und ohne Kraftaufwand spaltet sie das Holz mühelos in 2 Teilen. Das Handling (habe die 72 cm Variante gekauft) ist super und liegt sicher in der Hand. Ich kann die Axt zu 100 % weiter empfehlen für alle die in der Kälte Holz hacken müssen, ohne dabei sich zu Tode zu schwitzen um dann eine Erkältung zu bekommen. Ein super Kauf den ich nicht bereue.
