Shure Does An Excellent Job
The Shure C606 microphone is quite simply one of the best microphones i've ever heard in my life and for this price? I had a microphone that cost over ยฃ60 and I was extremely disappointed with it so I went looking. I read the reviews about this mic on amazon and i'm so glad I decided on this one. Essentially, I needed a microphone to do computer recording of podcasts, jingles, adverts etc and since i've got this microphone, i've just been curning them out. The mic comes in a nice looking red box, well padded and with the appropriate lead to plug straight into a mixer or computer. The mic itself is black of course but looks very nice and feels great. Nice weight, doesn't feel cheap. You plug it in and you're transformed. The sound is crystal clear - I use audacity as my main computer recording software and yes, you'll have to do some minor cleaning up as you do with all recordings. You should also invest in a decent pop shield as this microphone is super sensitive when you're right in front of it. If you're tempted to buy anything more expensive than this simply to do some recording, don't! This is going to do exactly what you need it to do. I'm not into techmincal data like some people are, all I can tell you is ... this is money well spent ... buy it!

Great replacement mic
I had a really trusty old Sunfly mic that I got cheaply back in the late 90s, but i dropped it and it died, so i needed to replace it with a new dynamic mic - this one was a great price, and it arrived in just a couple of days - which was perfect for me as i was in the midst of recording a podcast series. This mic is a simple DLR mic that's perfect for what i need with my pop shield. Haven't tried it with singing yet, but spoken word sounds fine.

Good for the price - donโt expect too much! Some static sounds, but overall is good
A good microphone for the price - โShureโ has very good technology, allowing even their cheaper models to be of good quality. There is some static - this can be removed by using a de-esser post production, or by using a high-pass filter. Perfect for recording an instrument in stereo - allows a โdoubleโ to be recorded, saving time and energy, and increasing the depth of the final combined stem! This microphone is also good for live singing - it is quite loud, an easy to hold. Would also be good for speeches. Overall, a good mic for the price.

Star product!!!!
I've had several Mics of varying values, though nothing that could be described as high end. I'm merely a karaoke singer, I like to throw a party and heck- I want to sound good!!! So, a bit fed up of the cheaper ones breaking and merely being adequate, I went in search of something a bit better but not too expensive. Well what can I say?? I read the reviews and went for it. It is not just a bit better, it is streets ahead of any others I've had. Also, I've had it over 18 months now and it's still going strong and by gum it's had some use!!! It's not tinny, sound quality is great and you don't need to shout to be heard. I might be guilty of letting my guests use my somewhat inferior products, keeping thus just for me- except they keep noticing!!!๐ก No need to pay more- I reckon this is much better than a karaoke mic. Take a chance in it whatever your needs!!!

Excellent value
The box contained the microphone and 4.5m cable. The microphone has an XLR connector, so the cable which is separate, has the XLR plug at one end and a 1/4" jack plug at the other. For my application, a 1/4" mono jack plug was required. As others have said, it will match up with any XLR to XLR cable. Tested briefly and the resulting recording was true to life with no extraneous noise. Although it isn't mentioned in the description, the illustration shows a 3rd item which appears to be a microphone clip. It would have been a useful addition, but In my case it was not included.

Pay less but get just as much
Following on from one of the reviews, I bought an XLR to 35mm lead at the same time that I bought this mic, but I should have waited until I had got the mic because I needn't have bought the extra lead - the lead that comes with the mic is a female XLR to 1/8" (35mm) connection, but also included is a 1/4" adaptor so there is no need to buy another cable to attach to your standard computer connections. The lead is 4.5 metres (15 feet). Great mic - buy this one and get the same sound and quality as the ยฃ89 one!! Well worth it. NOTE: One buyer has kindly commented that he did not receive the adaptor with his product - when I bought this, it did include the adaptor, so you might want to be careful that they haven't changed their packaging/product details.

music to your ears
I have used Shure mics for almost 45 years and now working with disabled people these mics are a treat a decent sound clean and clear sound of a quality product with years of quality behind them. A general purpose multi use mike can also be used for miking instruments, drums and mostly vocals. This model has a switch to mute mike when not being used. The supplied cable XLR to 6.3mm Jack was found to be of no use our mixer is XLR inputs so we had to buy new cables. Its a nice weight for holding in hand over a period of time. Although I have used other makes of mike I always end up going back to Shure
