## Description

Taking their unusual name from Irish writer James Joyce s book A Portrait Of The Artist As A Young Man , Bradford, UK based Baby Tuckoo first saw the light of day in 1982, the line-up of vocalist Rob Armitage, Neil Saxton on guitar, ex Heritage / Geddes Axe man Andy Barrott on guitar, bassist Paul Smith and drummer Tony Sugden releasing two hard rocking but surprisingly melodic albums in 1984 s First Born for the Ultranoise label and then the disc you now hold, 1985 s Force Majeure . Originally released on UK indie Music For Nations, this album would prove to be the band s swan song. Force Majeure is a fine record that shows the band had the skills to pay the bills in no uncertain terms. They deserve more than their current standing as a could have been act, and hopefully this reissue will go some way towards correcting that state of affairs once and for all.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    Excellent!

Man, this is so incredibly good. Heavy hard melodic British rock at its marvellous best!1986's "Force Majeure" is the second and last album by Baby Tuckoo, another one of the thousands of bands that have succumbed to the pitfalls of the music business. It waa a follow up to their already excellent first album, 1984's "First Born".Here, the sound is no doubt more polished, it even has those damn..d dated reverb drums sound of the time. But the overall effect is very good. Ten songs that have purpose, drive and melody.Singer Rob Armitrage's voice is scaring, so incredibly powerful it is. The guitarists are also right on spot, majestic tunes.

A great album of 80's hard rock. Hope that Amazon are able to sell the debut album in CD format at some stage as this is even better than Force Majeure. Buy it now.
