My bad, because the trigger mechanism works not on downward pressure but by lifting the trigger plate instead. I used mild cheddar as bait and placed this under the trigger mechanism and placed the trap, bait end against the garage wall on the floor. Works brilliantly, five nights and four mice so far. Nice to find something British made and not made from plastic. A total of 18 from parents to infants tried to get past the trap for the food and failed.Just one slight problem I live next door to people who have cats thinking they would do the job they getting idle in the old age. This saw the mouse is dead in the trap decided to pick up the trap with a mouse included dragging around to their side and say to their owners look mum and dad look out I am I did get the trap back sometimes with the dead packaging sometimes not. I'm not bothered either way.A lot better than the plastic ones to kill rate is 100%.
