Yes. Compare air velocity at HVAC vents, duct openings and exhaust fans. To calculate CFM manually, multiply average air velocity in ft/min by the opening area in square feet.

How does it help me check changing outdoor wind?

View current wind speed or switch to MAX, MIN and AVG to compare peaks, lows and averages. Choose mph, m/s, km/h, ft/min or knots for ventilation checks, sailing, drone outings and other outdoor activities.

Can I read the screen in low light, and are the controls easy to use?

The backlit LCD helps you read measurements in dim spaces or after sunset. Dedicated buttons switch measurement views and units. Press and hold Mode for more than 3 seconds to turn the backlight on or off.

Does it track pressure changes, and is the altitude GPS-based?

Review 16 pressure records taken at two-hour intervals. Altitude is calculated from air pressure, not GPS, so weather changes can affect the reading. The meter also allows pressure calibration.

Ho deciso di acquistarlo per testare la velocità del vento per delle incubatrici per uova di struzzo e devo dire che sono rimasto molto sorpreso, sicuramente non sarà un prodotto super professionale, ma fa il lavoro descritto nell’annuncio. Lo consiglio assolutamente.

Seems to be accurate

This unit works. I have a restaurant with overhead hood fans and i replaced one and had to adjust pulley sizes. I did the math based on pulley ratios, and the mfgr calculations for fan speed, etc, and then I put this unit in the fan to record wind speed (empirical data) and did the math for wind speed based on pi radius square feet and figured the CFM. So, both were very close. I don't trust products from China to be accurate in their claims, but what I was doing turned out to be accurate and this unit helped get us there. Thanks.
