Scholastic Dictionary of Idioms

Got this book for my nephew. This guide to idioms provide student with fun idioms we commonly use. Great little referece book to have for your kids to aid them in their writing.

Interesting and useful book, ideal for Christmas post dinner conversation. It is also useful for planning quiz nites for friends.

This book is excellent well explained and a friend who is German wanted a copy. I will send it to her as it is easy to ready with good explanations.

Every smart parent teach their kids to refer dictionary to learn English and that is very important but good books/authors use tons of idioms/proverbs that is not covered by dictionaries (rarely). Thats where a dedicated idioms/proverbs reference becomes a crucial difference. This helped our son immensely in his 11 plus prep. Even if you are not reading a book this by itself is an amazing time killer because it has example sentences so you just keep learning without bounds with each page.

I like to have resources that help me when working with a one-to-ond child, or a group of children. A good resource which I am glad I purchased!

Marvellous resource for kids and adults.

I really would LOVE to recommend this book for all of people who are learning English as a second language and hope to know English idioms. I am from Ukraine, but now I am staying in LA to learn English. I was looking for some books that could helps me to understand the meaning of idioms because sometimes it was too difficult for me to figure out what they mean. This book has more than 700 idioms with examples, meanings and origins. The origins help me to remember the idioms easier. After I read some, I finally understand why people use idioms in particular situations and I feel like I will never forget them. It may not really helpful for academic courses or daily conversation, but it is easy to read anytime and it is good for FUN! Unless I am older than twenty, this book is fun enough! And especially, this is cheaper than others. So, I'd like to say just buy and read. I am 99% sure that buying this book is going to be a good choice

Nice and well laid out with the varied font sizes. Good help for students wanting to add a spark to their essay writing.
