The art is bright, big and vibrant. If you want to collect the hellboy graphic novels/comics without mucking around finding them all then this is it. The frames of the art are huge - when I saw huge I mean HUGE. Concerns about spine strength were laid to rest when I held the book as it feels both flexible and strong at the same time. The one obvious thing to be warned is that this book is heavy. It’s bulky and sometimes hard to read depending on how you’re sitting/lying down. It is called the Monster Sized edition so this should all be expected. While the material is great - this book serves as a massive statement piece in any collection. Also, for some reason Amazon is selling it for significantly less than the original retail price (roughly 194.99 CAD) Please, if you want to read the Hellboy series…this is it. To my understand it’s not the entire series but the essential material. I’m going to take my time reading it because it’s just such a spectacle to hold and read. Thank you Mike Mignola and to the printing company. It really is something and I’m glad I went with this edition. The library editions also look really great - just more expensive and felt this version was befitting of the source material.
