You are paying for the Dewalt name. They both used to owned by the same company. **Q: this will be my first high end scroll saw ,iam wounding is trhis saw worth the price?** A: Well worth it. I previously owned the dewalt 788 and they are practically the same but the delta is cheaper in price. Im a fan **Q: The saw is great but I can not get the hold down to stay in place. I move the wood and it also moves. Any thoughts.** A: I removed mine even though it held just fine as I found that it got in my way. This was after I'd gotten used to the saw and the forces involved. I haven't had an issue using it without the hold down, but you have to do the holding down. **Q: What is the 'thing' on left side? How easy to change blade, need a tool? Disappointed no light, any available?** A: That black tube thing on the left is an adjustable hose that blows puffs of air (generated I think from the up and down motion of the upper arm) which will help keep your lines clear of sawdust. Changing blades is a snap, simply loosen the thumb / wing screw on the top arm and the lower holder and slide out the blade. As for the light, I make due with a shop lamp that I have hanging from the ceiling of my garage.
