Dimora 20 Pack Hydrocolloid Wound Dressing, Ultra Thin 4" x 4" Large Patch Bandages with Self-Adhesive

I use these almost daily over my various transdermal patches that I'm on to ensure that they stay on and label them with the date adhered, the date to be changed, and on some of them the name of the medication. They do a great job securing my patches to the various parts of my body and not allowing them to come off (one of my patches has to stay on for a week). It protects them through showers, swimming, sweating, etc. I do use alcohol pads prior to adhering them to ensure I get the best adhesion possible, but in doing so I have had no issues. They don't irritate my skin. They are easy to remove. They don't leave a bunch of adhesive behind on the skin after removing them (I simply take a couple of alcohol swabs and clean the area after removal or wash it with soap and water in the shower if I'm showering at the time). They can be cut into smaller pieces if you don't need the whole piece. For one of my patches I only need a half, so I can do two times of that patch out of one dressing. I don't know what I would do without these. They are awesome and relatively affordable!

I had a pressure ulcer on my ankle presumably from ill-fitting shoes that just wasn’t getting better with over two months of traditional wound care. I did some research and turned out I had some slough in the wound (mine was like a yellowish drainage that was too thin to be pus), and one of the solutions I kept coming across for treatment of slough was hydrocolloid bandages. Apparently slough interferes with your body’s ability to heal a wound and it won’t get better without the slough being debrided, and hydrocolloid bandages promote your body being able to do something called “autolytic debridement” which I guess is where your body uses enzymes to break down the slough. Good stuff! Well anyway nothing else was working so I gave these a try, figuring what did I have to lose? Yes they’re a bit expensive but I was able to cut them in half which helped. I’m happy to report that after just a month and a half of using these, on what was a Stage 3 pressure ulcer, the wound has FINALLY completely closed and the ulcer is nearly all the way healed!! I have no doubt these are to thank for that considering I was trying so many other things (regular bandages, gauze, ointments, antibacterial ointments), none of which worked for over two months during which time the wound actually got progressively worse. Some tips I’d like to share (since I used these for so long, I’ve definitely come to know a few): 1) Use the .3 mm if your wound is on a joint area, use the .5 if it isn’t. Mine was by my ankle and at first I was trying to use the thicker ones and kept getting frustrated at how hard it was to get them to stay stuck on. Once I switched to the thinner ones, they still came off every now and then (mostly if I tried to apply them when my skin wasn’t completely dry yet), but for the most part they stayed on much better. 2) Just because you can keep these on for several days without changing them, doesn’t mean you’ll be able to. Personally the wound I was dealing with had a LOT of drainage, especially at first, and something I came to notice is if I left the bandage on too long without changing it with a lot of drainage, it would start itching and feel very uncomfortable. Changing them more frequently helped tremendously. I actually had to change mine more or less every day. Expensive, yes, but more comfortable. 3) Wear these while bathing or showering, especially at first. I would always just clean my wound and change the bandage after bathing for the day. The reason being is I found the soaps/bath liquids and other things irritated the wound. Wearing the bandage in helped protect it from that discomfort. Eventually when it started to get a little better I would take the bandage off for showers only and just made sure to keep any soap suds away from the area. 4) Honestly there were stages of the wound healing that were just painful sometimes. These bandages reduced the pain some, but there were phases in healing where I had some discomfort no matter what. Dabbing a little lidocaine liquid or triple antibiotic ointment with numbing before putting on the dressing helped with this quite a bit. So did making sure to wipe off any extra gel adhesive that built up around the wound (idk if it’s true for everyone but when it built up that gel was a little irritating to my skin). Anyway, I think that’s about it! Long read but I hope it helps someone else: I can’t even begin to share how ecstatic I am that for the first time in months the skin by my ankle is finally completely intact, ALL thanks to these bandages. So I just had to come on here and tell everyone else how great these are!

These r great! I have torn small flaps of skin or cuts. I apply antibiotic ointment, cover it with the bandage and leave on for a few days. These r waterproof, skin color, and work really well. To remove I hold down skin and slowly peel off without bruising. Many times the wound has healed, but depending I may need to reapply another one after I apply aquaphor. This really protects the wound and promotes healing.

These are the evolution of the “Band-Aid” brand ProHeal bandage and ad much as I LOVE those bandages, I will never buy them again as long as I can get these. I love how clear and flexible these bandages are and how they just do not come off like others I have tried. You can see the bandages working as they are clear, and really do blend in with skin. I have had one on for two days now and it shows no signs of moving or peeling off. Also, I cut another one of the bandages into smaller pieces and used it on smaller cuts I have, I fell and cut my legs up in a bunch of spots, and the smaller pieces are holding just as well as the full bandage is holding, which is something I cannot say for other brands as they all have the “bandage” in the center and some kind of adhesive around it, but these are the bandage from edge to edge so you can get them to fit better. And again, with the bandage being clear, you can fit it better as you can see where it is going, unlike other brands. Buy these and follow the instructions and your cuts will heal so much better!

Husband has unique problem with a wound where a bag must stick to his abdomen. Well, if you have a wound that you must use material base meds, or a wound, or a huge ulcer hole, you will not be able to stick the bag to it. You need a SKIN material to go over it and stick to what's left of good areas. Then the bag sticks to the SKIN material. Husband was allergic to some, others wounded abdomen skin to where it bled. Some the bag would not stick to it. Some were to thick for the bag to seal. This was extremely thin, and removes easily with skin adhesive remover, and was about 40% cheaper than buying other RX skins that go all gooey on seeping wounds. Insurance won't cover this but it works. The upside to this is the thinness. Unfortunately, that is the downside as well. This needs to come with instructions. #1 peel 1/2 side off. Do NOT let it touch together as it WILL try to stretch and spring back as you separate the 2nd half and then it is trash. #2 Place the first half down ever so LIGHTLY, VERY SLIGHTLY stretching as you place it so as not to wrinkle or bubble it. Put it on SLOWLY. Do NOT press immediately in case you need to lift gently and slightly re-arrange it. (I had to cut a donut hole and place this over stoma opening) You may need to reach under and hold bandage material down with a finger while you do this. #3 While holding the bandage material down and in place, unless it's now in place with the 1st half, you unpeel the 2nd half (It will STRETCH on it's own no matter what you do). Again, slowly and meticulously adjusting as needed. Some wrinkling and bubbling is probably going to happen but hopefully not enough to matter. #4 This probably needs some skin adhesive remover wipes to remove it to change the bandage.

I never heard of this type of product. My skin tears easily. These bandages speed up healing. I was leery of a bandage that sticks on the wound. But they are super comfortable and easy to remove unlike other bandages that tear and bruise the area they were stuck to. The size works well, not too big or to small

These have worked well for me as a general replacement for bandaids. They are tough, conformal, and sticky, so they work well even in ordinarily really tough areas to use normal bandaids. I'm talking the creases of the fingers, elbows, etc. You do need to give them time, as it can feel like wounds are healing slowly underneath (because they don't really scab with these) but when they finish healing they are usually well-restored with healthy skin and minimal marking.
