It's way better than the big name brand as far as the flavor from pods because it heats up the water better, which gives more flavor. Today I finally tried real coffee, putting in 3 level spoons and using the largest cup size. Very good flavor and it was easy. They sent the measure spoon with my pot. It does shut itself off, but takes a few minutes to do that. Easy to refill the reservoir. It does drip a bit after I remove the cup.
