I caught it in stock and went for it. It is clearly more ruggedly built employing metal where it should be (everywhere except the handle) and a nice beech wood handle. Now for the Quality issues, the paint is likely dipped with several large "globs" which I hope won't immediately chip off when I bump it up against another hard object (see picture), somewhat of a disappointment for sure. Second, the beech wood handle is roughly finished along both inside curves and will need to be dressed to prevent slivers before I put it to use. Would like to not have to do the extra work on a brand-new saw but they leave me no choice.
