Review: Good bit of kit! - Bought for low torque clamp screws - works great for this. The higher torque settings are pretty hard to use with a screwdriver, so you may wish to use a suitable torque wrench if you regularly need to go above say 4Nm. Certainly a good cheap and reasonably accurate tool for lower torque jobs. Fits standard driver bits very securely.
Review: works - Nice easy to read scale compared to some others and has a quality if plastic feel to it. Comes in plastic case without accessories which i like as it cheap, easy to store and not spending money on what i don't need. Can't say anything wrong with it but not tried calibrating or long term testing. 5Nm can be hard on hands so consider if you want a wrench rather than a screwdriver.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I need 0.03 to 0.06Nm torque driver, will this cover those settings?**
A: The adjusting knob has 0.1 Nm markings. So you don't have divisions to set precisely under that.
You might consider some watch repair kits that come with a few preset values and cover your range.

**Q: Can you use it on an electric consumer unit as they have different torque settings**
A: Firstly this screwdriver is in no way electrically insulated so it would be obvious to say that you must not use this torque screwdriver on anything "LIVE" i would imagine you already understand that statement as a given and even if it were insulated its always best to work on an electrically safe isolated situation anyway.

considering most electrical terminals on equipment such as consumer units require very accurate torque settings of just a couple or so Nm depending on what you are tightening, so technically yes you can use this tool however it will not be accurate enough to fully trust because the tolerance accuracy window is far too inaccurate, basically lets say you set the screwdriver to tighten an MCB with a manufactures required torque of 2.5Nm +- 2% the actual torque wrench has an accuracy of about +- 6-10% meaning you could be over or under torquing the screws by quite a margin, that is why you would ideally invest in a proper electricians insulated torque screwdriver set which will have incredible accuracy, i have a couple of sets but my WIHA set which was recently tested and had an accuracy of just 0.9% after very accurate calibration tests which frankly is the most accurate torque wrench i have ever used.

so the difference between a dedicated specialist very accurate tool like the wiha and a general purpose tool like the proxxon could mean the difference between accurate safe correct terminal tightening or of a terminal being hugely under or over tightened,

personally i would not trust the proxxon for electrical terminals as this is a vital electrical connection, as an multi trained technician with tickets as a automated crane and conveyor engineer, electrician, and even an electrical and mechanical hvac engineer totalling 25+ years and still i never used to ever torque my terminals for many years as it was just something we never did back then, and basically just relying on my own experience or judgement to know how tight to do the screw up on a terminal, however these days with tighter and tighter rules, the need for accurate documentation of torques, meeting very strict engineering tolerances and simply being a professional and especially for peace of mind i have for some years now torqued every single terminal to the correct torque as per the manufacturers requirement or the engineering specifications especially on commercial and industrial sites, i now would never dream of not correctly torquing my terminals as most times generally people will over torque the screws without knowing they had done so which stresses the terminal screws, can damage the conductor, stretches the screws, and may lead to terminal screw failure, or over heating, in the 25 plus years as an electrician i have seen some really poor connections, failed connections, serious overheating on control panels, consumer units, terminals, heat damage and even fire and almost always because of a terminal being too tight or too loose, when running a torque wrench takes only a few extra seconds to run through a panel. these days everything is expected to be torqued on industrial installations as standard and i agree with it, if you are going to be doing electrical or engineering just get the best tools you can

i have a couple of sets by various brands but my wiha is been proven to be excellent,

the proxxon is a fine tool for general mechanical duty, bikes and non vital car parts but i would not consider this a suitable tool for electrical installations, electronics or delicate mechanical or engineering applications where risk of incorrect torque is too risky to rely on the proxxon.

a decent specialist electricians torque wrench screwdriver is not cheap but its not too far away to dismiss if you are considering paying for a proxxon you might as well give yourself the peace of mind and get the right tools to do the job right and safely and sleep at night you did the job well to the best of your ability.

**Q: Does the torque wrench use metric measurements are imperial pounds?**
A: Nm means Newton meter so this is metric measurements.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job 👍
*by G***J on 21 March 2020*

Seems to work just fine, nothing to measure accuracy with so I'll just hope it's right? A quarter inch drive in the end would assist at higher torque settings but other than that I'm very happy with it.
