Great for kids to make their own markers.
When I say 'I love it', I mean 'I love it because it kept the kids occupied for a morning'. This is basically a kit that allows you to make your own marker pens. It came with English instructions and also a colour chart telling you the quantities of primary colour ink you need to mix to obtain certain colours. This is done by using two measuring cylinders that conveniently stand up inside part of the lid (And form a tray for collecting mess!). Once this has been done, use the supplied tweezers to put the 'core' into the ink and wait for it to absorb it. Once this has done, the pen is stood up inside the plastic base and a handle used to pop the nib and lid on. And then you have labels you can use to complete the job. The result is a proper marker pen that worked fine. I must admit I dreaded the kids using this, but surprisingly they understood what to do by reading the instructions and managed to get a set of 8 pens created of different colour without much mess. I'm not sure how much replacement inks will be, but initial thoughts are that this is a good toy for the kids and they can use the results to draw them own pictures, which seemed to give them a lot of satisfaction!

Great fun. Beautiful colours
Did this with my 8 and 5 year old. It's really two sets of 8 pens so works really well to do with two children. The machine has space to store all the pieces but we made them all in one sitting and the machine becomes redundant after that, unless you order more refills. Really the machine is only used to click the base on but it does add to the fun as it makes it more like a "pen factory". We used the colour card initially then just invented our own mixtures and they ended up with a set of pens each in nice colours. A fun activity and you end up with a nice set of pens.

Keeps them busy
My daughter really enjoyed this toy, once she was shown how to make one marker she was able to make plenty more. It can be a bit difficult for a child to put the base onto the pen but mommy was on hand :) Overall I thought it was great for her to learn about how different levels of colours make the different shades of pens. I would take note to not to completely follow the index card of colours as we didn't find it entirely accurate. I would buy more bottles of ink and refills for this product as the kids loved it. Another bonus is that it is very easily to clean away and the inks are washable

Fun but..
bought for my 6 year old...Good idea and fun to do but you have to press quite hard to get the bottom of the pen on so maybe it's better for older children.

interesting and creative
What an amazing invention. This really gets the creative side of my child going and really interesting for my child to see how pens are made. It comes in a handy box which stored everything in so it is all kept neatly together and nothing goes missing. You get easy to follow colour guides which we had no problem using and we had more fun creating our own and guessing what colours will come from it. You get two pen cases which hold all the pens between them and even I had fun colouring one box in while my daughter did the other and of course this was done with our freshly made felts. I love crayola Celts and the quality is just the same as shop bought pens so you don't loose the lovely glide and diminish which I thought might happen. Really worth every penny and a great gift for your child

She loved mixing up the colours
My 8 year old daughter chose this with her birthday vouchers. I was too busy in the kitchen the moment the postman knocked the door with it, so she broke into it and did it herself. Unlike many of these things, she was able to set it up and make her markers successfully with absolutely ZERO supervision or help from me. And no tears/frustrated outbursts. Hurrah! She did make a bit of mess - rather than sitting at the table she decided to do it on the wooden floor... thankfully it all washed off with a damp sponge. She loved mixing up the colours, but for her the best bit was thinking of exotic names for her pens - rainstorm grey, tropical peach, etc etc. I'm going to buy another set as a present for someone else. For under £15 this makes a decent present.

Great
Me and my 7 year old had plenty of fun making marker pens with this. It can be slightly messy so you may want to put a plastic sheet or newspaper down. Really easy to set up. The instructions I found to be quite clear and easy to understand with diagrams shown too. Looks worse then it is on instruction but once figured really easy to use. It has been a couple months and she is still using the markers to colour with so they last well. It comes with a colour chart and instructions on how to make many different colours. Enough ink to use all the markers supplied. I had fun with this and it kept my girl occupied for ages. One of my favourite crayola toys so far.

Rubbish present for my kids. They don't understand Italian ...
Rubbish present for my kids. They don't understand Italian, Spanish or Portuguese. Would have been ok if just the box being foreign but the instructions too! Too late to sort for Christmas now and its the only present they asked for. As for Amazon Customer service - slow to sort and can't really understand the issue!!!! Be careful if you order it may cause massive issues!

We bought this for Hannukah this year for our 7 year old daughter. She loves it and it is one of those toys that they can use immediately themselves with minimal adult interference. It is totally intuitive, and great for slightly older kids as well. Her cousins (boys, 9&10) loved it as well and they all played together and got to take a color of their own home with them. Quality is good and helps minimize mess. Good job to the folks in the toy lab at Crayola! From my 7 year old: "It comes with a paper that shows you all the colors and makes it super easy to figure out what colors to make. I love the machine that you make them with. And, of course, you can make all sorts of colors out of it and they are your own colors you get to keep once you make them. I love it".

Pensé que sería una tontería mas que acabaría en el armario, pero la verdad que ya me esta pidiendo recambios porque le encanta fabricar sus propios rotus y regalarselos a los amigos y familiares. Es entretenido y fácil, y no manchan nada ;)
