So if your battery is completely kaput, then this will work great to give /some/ life back to your computer; just don’t expect it to be as good as the original.== Capacity Measurement Details ==I’ve attached a screenshot of the CoconutBattery app, which measures battery capacity for Macs. The first line (2018-10-10) is my old battery that I was replacing, The second (2018-11-10) is what the battery reports fresh out of the package before the computer has had a chance to calibrate/measure the battery, and (2018-10-18) is the capacity of the battery after 2 discharge cycles. And as you can see, the battery only has about 79% of the original design capacity. It's no better than the battery I was replacing in the first place! ### ⭐ Battery Capacity way lower than advertised *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2020* I installed the battery a month ago and everything went well with the installation. I completed a full charge and a complete discharge cycle as recommended. On day1, system report reported the battery capacity as ~8700mAh, which is what the seller advertises. However, as I was using the laptop on day1, I saw the battery charge dropped from ~70% down to 7% instantly. Based on the battery gauge learning over the last month of usage, the system report now reports battery capacity as 5900mAh. I expect this number will continue to get adjusted downwards because battery charge still drops from ~30% to 7% instantly during usage.This is a crappy battery, period! Given the amount of work involved in replacing the battery, spend the extra $ and buy the battery from a more reputable company. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy installation. Battery works great. Looks well made. *by R***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2017* I am a certified Apple Technician who does not work for an authorized repair shop. Therefore, I look for replacement part alternatives that are less expensive when I can. With batteries, I can usually find a decent replacement for a fraction of the Apple price. This was the battery I chose, not the cheapest, but no negative remarks at the time on Amazon. The seller asked me to write a review not knowing what I would say and I realized that he would have trouble selling these batteries because of the most popular repair guides online, ifixit.com makes the replacement look impossible.The main guide for the battery replacement on this guide has you buying tools, removing logic board and wrestling with microscopic parts and fragile cables for well over an hour if you don't have experience with such repairs. Honestly, following this guide is not recommended for a non-computer technician. The problem is that this guide wants you to remove the trackpad so that you can hit the case with a heat gun without destroying trackpad in order to soften the adhesive that holds the battery in place. Well, good news: You DON'T have to do that!!! For me, I was able to get a credit card ( a plastic paint scraper would work well also) and slowly pull the old battery out. OMG. It was so easy. What a relief. I think I did remove the plastic speaker channels or some such thing. But I was absolutely dreading pulling out the trackpad.Bottom Line: Gently, slowly, pull out old battery. Required, fancy drivers included. New adhesive tape included. Easy install. I just spoke with my client and the battery works great. Saved money for my client. No problems. Also, I do recommend using the ifixit.com guide to get the case open and remove the plastic pieces that run along side of the battery.
