The lid fits well and it is very sturdy, so could be stacked or have further items put on top of it and the lid will not bow. The box is slightly tapered towards the bottom, so bear in mind it's a bit smaller at the bottom than at the top. Although I measured, it is far bigger than I thought, so do check the measurements before ordering as it's a pretty sizeable box.
