The purpose of a conventional close coupling kit is to hold a ceramic cistern and pan together. On this plastic cistern the spigot outlet can be placed into a modern inlet to a toilet bowl. The fitting will be spigot /socket flowing under gravity i.e non pressure, the outlet is lower that the inlet and so leakage is not a risk at this junction, however a 2" donut foam seal is advised (Screwfix/Toolstation). The weight of the cistern would be transferred to the pan. The supplied wall bracket would hold it to the wall.The foam seal would ensure no leaks. A conventional close coupling kit could be used although there is no clear benefit. If it was used slot onto the 2" outlet, screw the 2" backnut, drop the cistern into position an tighten the wingnuts which would provide further fixity to the pan. **Q: I've read that there is a version 2 of this with an improved tap, are you shipping the new version or the original?** A: We are supplying what could be described as V2, this has the improved tap. The improved tap is stronger and will not rust. Many thanks **Q: Where does the water feed into the cistern?** A: On the left hand side base you you will see the spigot in the image. This is the main water in feed and is attached to the inlet valve. A competent Diyer or plumber could swap this over and cap the hole if required - this would require drilling the plastic cistern body. Installation not quite as simple as they make out in the instructions but still able to be done on a DIY basis without too much difficulty ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ "LOVE IT !" ... but beware *by A***. on 3 September 2017* My original ... so positive ... feedback comment of August 2017 (having newly fitted this cistern) ended with the sentence, "Now just looking forward to longevity of the (unusual for the UK) internal plumbing". Here we are in November 2020 and the rubber diaphragm employed in the fill valve has understandably degraded to the point where water is now leaking into the bowl. Sadly, Grandesys is apparently "unable" to supply anything but a complete fill valve assembly (their policy I guess ... their economics). This disappoints me greatly so I can no longer recommend this as an "eco / environmentally" friendly product . Grandesys still currently state in their marketing that purchasing their product, "... does not only make sense in an ecological way but also for YOUR bank account". Ecological ? Well, I hope mother earth can cope with all those rejected intricate plastic fill valves. MY Bank Account benefit ? The best part of £40 for a fill valve ? ...... No, good only for Grandesys' bank account only. Our proud hard working Victorian engineers would not believe how professional folk now seem to rely excessively on marketing words rather than using honest innovative design prowess to achieve a contemporary premium product.
