If not it just functions as a standard Ethernet port. **Q: Could I plug and power my AP through this?** A: It depends on the spec of your access point; you may need to add a splitter at the AP to separate the power and data going into it. **Q: Thinking of buying the dms-105 with 5 ports. Is this PoE and which port do I plug my router into?** A: I bought this item as a Gigabit switch to replace a lesser switch when I upgraded to faster broadband.
