I enjoyed playing the campaign and the story. I especially enjoyed playing in the skirmish feature (basically, free play) where I got to be more creative and less restricted than in the story mode. The dialogue with the snarky narrator and the hero unit (main character) Thalya relatively funny. The research tree, the rooms, traps, the creatures, and the further specialization were pretty extensive. Even fighting the heroes in the overworld was fun. The only reason I didn't give this game a 5 star review is because of the frequent crashes during the gameplay. I would get crashes whenever the map had a large group fighting in the same area, creating a large, needlessly complex dungeon, or the seldom, nearly random crashes after a long session that frequent the usual sandbox games. The saving grace of this fact is that there is an auto-save option that can be programmed to save every 10 minutes or so. That helps when you are the type of gamer who doesn't save regularly.
