ZipString Original Rope Launcher Toy, Vivacious Violet

I got a ZipString original for my 8 year old grandson and gave it to him today as an early Christmas present. He loved it! The string tangled in the devise as he was learning how to use it. When he tried to pull the string out of the devise to untangle it a thin red “thread” also came out, as seen in the attached photo. At 3:46 pm I sent a message and a picture of the devise to customer support asking if that issue was fixable. I got an immediate response via email and within 35 minutes or so I was informed that another ZipString original was being sent to us. Later that evening I already received the tracking info. THAT’S GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This toy is so fun! I got it for 3 more of my grandkids too and honestly wish I’d ordered one for myself! 🙂 After watching some of the videos on the ZipString website with my grands so they could see different ways to play with it they are all in agreement they wish I had purchased the Luma model cause it has a black light and includes strings that glow in the dark. You may want to consider that when purchasing. My grands range in age from 3 to 13 and they all love this toy!

ORIGINAL REVIEW: This thing is so much more awesome than I could’ve expected. My six-year-old and two-year-old cannot get enough of playing with this toy. It comes with three different sized loops in different bright colors. Their favorite game with it currently is one of them holds the button down to make the loop fly through the air, and the other one tries to jump through the middle of it without touching the string. This really is a fantastic birthday gift or stocking stuffer. Definitely a showstopper when you get it out at a party. One of the coolest toys I’ve seen in a really long time. It reminds me of the toys they used to have at the science based kids toy shops at the mall back in the 90s and early 2000s. Definitely worth the money! They are also very easy to fix when the string comes off the track and pretty durable since my two year-old and six-year-old can play with them pretty roughly and haven’t broken it yet. I’ll be buying more for birthday gifts. UPDATE: it’s now Feb 2026 and both of these work like the day we got them (and guys I have the world’s biggest 3yo who breaks everything- he’s 45” and 79lbs at 3.5 yrs so really these things are durable). I’ve gifted at least six of these and everyone is blown away by how cool they are. They have glow in the dark ones too that I put in our camper for after dark fun when we are sitting around outside or the kids are playing with the kids in the neighboring campsite.

So much fun! A great birthday gift for kids of all ages. Bought 4 not knowing if it would be fun and easy to play with and it is! My grandkids aged 4 to 13 all had so much fun. Even bought 2 more for upcoming birthdays!

I enjoyed playing with this string launcher. However, the string often becomes tangled with itself. This probably is unavoidable with this kind of toy, but it does get somewhat annoying. Otherwise, it has been a blast to play with. It was amazing the first time I saw it and there are many fun things it can do. After a couple hours, it started getting a bit repetitive to play with. In my opinion, it's best to break this toy out on special occasions, especially to show to people who might not have seen it yet.

This thing is so cool. I bought it for my 12-year-old daughter’s birthday. She absolutely loves this. It’s honestly such a cool toy by 10 out of 10 recommend just don’t touch the string cause it gets all tangled up, but it’s easy to get it untangled

Very fun to play with . My kids love them and were the hit of the party. Adults were even intrigued.

This was a birthday present for my grandson, who enjoyed it much. It was also fun for his younger sister and adults. Press the button and the string buzzes and stiffens out in front of you. Rather simple and fascinating.
