With the original pre-2.0 version is included as a bonus on this release, aside from the 4K scan of the original film, it brings into question what the point of even owning the 25th Anniversary release by Anchor Bay (Starz Media) is as some reviewers have mentioned how much Anchor Bay messed up that release, just as they did to a degree with both SAC releases on Blu-Ray. Great price and the original version being included as a bonus was a nice suprise as I had also ordered said compromised 25th Anniversary release just to have a version of that original release. This is one of the most well made and cool movies ever made. It contains tons of sophisticated esoteric dialogue meant for thinkers, and a downright artful play on technology and mankind. The art style and music make for a great ambiance as well. It expresses a sort of cold dying world in a serene and beautiful way, while not without the necessary elements that draw in the people that want the simple things like violence and nudity. This is no movie for fools though, and to really grasp the messages and the feelings you would have to watch it multiple times over. Don't watch it without following up with Innocence however. The sequel is as fulfilling as the original.
