The radios are small and compact with crisp and clear audio. The rechargeable lithium ion battery holds the charge very well. I use them for communication between the upstairs and downstairs of my home, which has a solid concrete flooring, and also concrete walls. The distance of communication is approximately 60 feet with no problems. I have not tested these radios over longer distances, but it serves our purpose well, especially when phone and Internet services were down for two days.
