I did some research and this one came on my radar, I thought go on then I'll take a chance, glad I did because the ink just works beautifully for copperplate and other scripts. It dries in no time at all, it does have a funny smell but you get used to that and the price is fantastic for what I'm using it for. A perfect practice ink that will see you right.I had to find a jar or pot with lid to hold the ink and I needed the opening to allow a oblique pen holder, I used Loreal Age Perfect pot, cleaned out of course. I twisted the neck of the ink cap and poured right to the top of the Loreal jar and there is still over three quarters left of this product. Highly recommended and worth every penny. Sumi ink has charcoal particles in it which will block your fountain pen. **Q: Can i use this ink to make suminagashi prints?** A: I have made many with this ink and it works great **Q: is this ink non-toxic and suitable for gyotaku** A: I’m not sure as I’ve never tried drinking it. You might be better using non toxic acrylic paints for gyotaku. **Q: Is it suitable for bamboo pen/qalam for arabic calligraphy??** A: I use it for Bamboo pen, Reed pen and Dip pens, and it does it all very well indeed. The ink may need diluting a little but that depends on your personal preference, and it lasts a long time. They only thing that I can mention that may be very slightly negative is that it has a strange smell but when it's decanted into an ink well it's not noticeable.
