I am after 1000, 4000, 6000** A: My understanding is XXC(extra extra coarse) 120. XC 220, C 335, F 600, XF 1200 and XXF 8000. I use up to the extra fine then move up to some fine water stones finishing on gold stone 8000 grit for mirror finish. Not got the diamond extra extra fine yet but if as good as the rest of the diamond stones will stop me having to keep flattening the water stones. If not try a Google search with your question. **Q: is the medium extra fine a one side or two sided plate and is it medium grit** A: It's One-sided. Also, it's 4000 grit, it's second from the highest grit stone they have, out of a range of about 6. It's for taking VERY little material off.
