Beginner's Pathway To Portrait Drawing
The 30 Minute Portrait Drawing book is clearly the best book for me to learn the fundamentals of portrait drawing. I've learned how to draw using grids and have been trying to wean myself away from that. This book uses the framework of the Loomis technique, which was difficult for me to follow. I'm halfway through the book doing exercise by exercise and have a better understanding of proportion and perspective. I recommend this book for everyone trying to learn portrait drawing.

Very good for beginners and covers a variety of mediums
Talks about basics, skin textures/wrinkles. eyes, mouth, nose, facial expressions, and hair. I really like how it's all laid out plus it talks about shading with ink and watercolours as well as graphite
