I use the 839 to make ice cream cones as well. The 839 makes a Scandinavian decorative pattern on the cone but the 838 makes check pattern. Another difference is the dimensions of the roller that comes with the machine. The opening of the finished cone on the 839 (~1") is not as wide as that on the 838 (~2"). **Q: this stuff 110 0r 220 volt product** A: This is a 110 volt appliance. **Q: What's the different between 838 vs 839 model?does 838 model make krumkake more crispy and thinner than 839 model?** A: I don't have 838 so I can't compare. I use the 839 to make Vietnamese " Banh Kep cuon" and I like it. The " Banh Kep" are as thin as I want and they are crispy. I think the Krumkake are thin or not sometimes depend on the dough. **Q: could it make waffle-ice-cream-cone type of texture? and crepe?** A: Yes it can. Just add a little more batter and don't lock the latch. I have not made the crepe but I have made many of the waffle-ice-cream cones.
