It is actually a system with a basic unit base that can be built on for various functions and jigs. The magnetic "switches" connect and disconnect with a turn of the knob and set in the basic base or the switches can be mounted in your own jig or attachment as long as the bottom of the switch makes contact with a metal surface. I found them to be great and I use mine on the table saw, joiner, and band saw. **Q: I can't see the black brackets in starter kit. Can this work only with starter kit without brackets?** A: The brackets come with the dual roller guide and any attachments.
